Information - Achievements
In the late 1970's Mirko represented FC Belgrade in one of the best Youth Tournaments in the world for U21s (Torneo Mondiale Di Calcio) in Viareggio, Italy. In 1978-79 in 2nd Yugoslav League, Mirko's team FC Zemun were runners up. Around 1979-80 Mirko won promotion to the Serbian League with BSK Club. In 1982-83 while playing in USA against PAF in an International Tournament, Mirko scored 4 goals and was voted Player of the Match. In June of 1983, Mirko's team won the biggest Indoor Football Tournament in Belgrade (500 teams) and was voted one of the best players of the final. In 1985 Mirko moved to Turkey and in the same year won the Trakia Cup with his team. In 1986 Mirko represented the first official Yugoslav National Team in Indoor Football in a tournament held in Croatia and was voted best player of the tournament. In 1987 Mirko played in the NSW Indoor Football League for Alkane and won the Grand Final. He was named as one of the best players of the league. In 1988 Mirko's team, the Gridline Eagles finished Premiers in the Australian Indoor National League. In 1988 Mirko captained AVALA, winning the Premiership and Grand Final in the NSW 1st Division and gained promotion to the NSW State League. In 1989 Mirko's team, White Eagles won the Premiership and were runners up in the Australian National Indoor Football League. In 1989 in the final series, Mirko was top goal scorer with 7 goals. In 1989-90 while playing with APIA Leichhardt in the National League (current A League), Mirko was voted by some of the best coaches in this country; Les Scheinflug (Blacktown City), Raul Blanco (Melita Eagles) and Zoran Matic (Adelaide City) in the 'Best 11' for that season. In 1992 Mirko captained Bonnyrigg White Eagles to become Premiers, Grand Final Winners and Waratah Cup Winners in the NSW Super League and was considered by his peers to be the best Bonnyrigg White Eagles player ever. In 1994-95 Mirko's team Serbia won the Granville Ethnic World Cup over 35's. In 1997 Mirko's team won the NSW Indoor Football Championship. In 2003 Mirko's team, the Milperra Lions were Premiers over 35's. In 2007 Mirko's team AAE finished 3rd in the NSW Corporate Games. In 2007 in the International Airline Tournament played in Sydney, Mirko's team AAE won the Freightaroo Cup. In 2008 Mirko coached a BTH Raiders U10 team that only the season before hardly won any games. Under Mirko's guidance this team not only made it through to the finals but also played a great grand final game. This goes to show that with good coaching and determination and dedication you can go all the way. In 2009 Mirko was Head Coach for Premier League side CC Strikers in MWFA. After round 9 1st Grade was equal first on the ladder. |
